“I don’t want my patients on pain medication forever. That’s no way to live. I treat my patients in a manner that enables them to live active lifestyles, enjoying all that life has to offer. This can only be achieved through integrative medicine, which combines traditional and holistic medicine with nutrition, physical training, and rehabilitation while treating the causes of pain.”
Dr. Theofilis is an active member of the following organizations: American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Integrative Medicine, Diplomate American Academy of Integrative Medicine, Diplomate American Board of Addiction Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Association.
Specializing in pain management through Pain Intervention & Integrative Medicine, ARILEX sets itself apart from typical pain management practices. Our unique approach focuses on maximizing your ability to enjoy life by offering a comprehensive range of services. Founded by Dr. Gary G. Theofilis DO, ARILEX integrates the principles of Osteopathic and Integrative Medicine with Interventional Pain Medicine.
"I treat the cause of pain; I don’t want my patients on pain meds forever. These medications were not designed for long-term use, and it’s no way to live. Many patients are unaware that the long-term use of opioids has been linked to memory loss, endocrine dysfunction, and an increased risk of cancer."
After years in the corporate sector, Dr. Theofilis felt a higher calling. "I serve God by serving my fellow man." As an Anesthesiology Pain Physician, he completed fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine under Paul Lynch, MD, and Tory McJunkin, MD, at Arizona Pain Specialists, which is affiliated with the renowned MAYO Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ.
"While most Pain Fellows perform about 750 procedures during their training, I completed over 3000. I was surprised by the limited options for patients provided by pain practices in Georgia. I have established myself as the premier Pain Physician in the Southeast United States for treating female pelvic and genital pain, with patients traveling from as far as Virginia to achieve excellent results."
Our practice stands out due to its unique combination of Pain Intervention & integrative medicine.
"The body is a unit, and we harness its ability to heal and treat itself by optimizing health while simultaneously eliminating the causes of pain."
Dr. Theofilis has published and presented at international pain conferences, including the American Society of Regional Anesthesiology Pain Conference.
He is also the founder and President of OrthodoxChristianProjects.org, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization that provides funding for Orthodox Christian Orphanages worldwide.
